OUR MATERIALS
Choosing our fabric was one of the most important decisions in creating Durga.
As a yoga teacher, I tried many different materials, both natural and synthetic, looking for the right balance between comfort, freedom of movement, durability, and a more responsible use of resources.
The ultra-soft fabric we chose, made with REPREVE® recycled fibers, felt like the most thoughtful balance for our first collection.
Developed by UNIFI, REPREVE® transforms waste into recycled performance fibers. Its FiberPrint® tracing technology allows the origin of those fibers to be verified, bringing greater transparency to recycled materials.
Our finished garments are also OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, meaning they have been tested for harmful substances against the standard’s requirements. For pieces worn so closely against the skin, that reassurance mattered to me.
Alongside softness, I wanted a fabric suited to regular practice and repeated wear. Our aim is to create pieces you can keep reaching for over the years, with proper care helping to preserve their quality for as long as possible.
For us, responsibility includes making better use of what already exists. Choosing recycled fibers is one way to put that belief into practice, giving existing materials renewed value while creating pieces intended to be worn and cared for.
OUR PRODUCTION
The same care we brought to choosing our fabric guided our search for the people who would make our pieces. That search took us to Bali, where small workshops continue to combine skilled craftsmanship with careful, precise work.
We visited our production workshop and met the people behind our garments. Seeing their work in person helped us understand the time, skill, and attention that go into bringing each design to life.
Many stages of the process are carried out by hand, with care and love for the craft. Each finished piece carries the contribution of the people who worked on it.
For us, a responsible approach to production begins with knowing who makes our clothes and understanding how they are made. Those personal connections are part of Durga, and part of the story behind every piece you wear.
With love,
Linda
